More about this piece...
The conception of this painting began in 1993 when I lived in Louisiana, but it took almost twenty more years to come to fruition before I had the space and time to complete it. I’ve always liked the idea of breaking up the picture plane into separate panels that can be hung either together or apart. It represents many years of thought and paint, wedding my interest in both realism and abstraction with parts almost connecting to places that people may know and love, but elusively remaining just paint upon the surface right when identification seemed a possibility.
