Provincetown has always been a place of joy, where I go to replenish my spirit and enjoy both the land and the community. This piece was painted over a 5-year period for a few days every June. Some years I was with my partner and friends, others I was just with my canine sidekick at the time, Bella. I always enjoyed the tours and the tourists driving by who had words of encouragement to carry on. Some years the fog would roll in and the view wouldn’t be there. One year there was a bicycle race so I couldn’t access the spot that I painted from. Nevertheless, I persevered and eventually finished it. Now when I visit there I always return to the spot and feel like I am seeing a very old and dear friend.
